Thai dancer at Moreleta Plaza

Nunu a vibrant and petit 28 year old from Thailand will be enchanting us with her authentic representation of Thai culture at Simply Asia Moreleta  Plaza.

Born and bred in Bangkok, Nunu made her way to South Africa in 2004 to work for her aunt.  Upon arrival the friendly and attentive South Africans soon stole her heart and she praises the community involvement we all seem to have.  She goes on to mention that although Bangkok is more up to date when it comes to the technological advancements and the latest fashion trends, she wouldn’t trade living in South Africa for anything.

Nunu was traditionally taught how to dance at school and she has been elevating her skill ever since.  She has performed at a number of prestigious events and also form part of the regular entertainment group for the Thai Embassy in South Africa.

Thai dancing or Ram Thai is the main art form in Thailand and can be divided into two categories, high art (classical dance) and low art (folk dance).  It combines colourful costumes and heavy accessories with captivating music and intriguing dance moves.  Nunu usually starts off with a dance called the blessing dance, it is a slow and tranquil dance that she performs in order to captivate her audience and bless her performance. With a start like that…any performance must knock your socks off.

Simply Asia in Moreleta Plaza wants to introduce you to the true essence of Thailand and hosts Nunu every Monday night from 19:00 for traditional dancing and entertainment. Don’t miss out.
