Restaurant regulars who are tired of the usual, mundane fast-food offerings will be pleased to know that there is a new kid on the Kenilworth block. The increasingly popular Simply Asia has done it again and this time has popped up on Rosmead Avenue. To the delight of loyal Simply Asia fans residing in the Southern Suburbs, who have had to travel far and wide to get their hands on some tasty Thai, there is now a conveniently-located Simply Asia which they can nip into for a quick takeaway or a more relaxed sit-down meal. Geared towards the modern city-slicker with a fast-paced lifestyle, who wants healthy, hearty and flavoursome food in a flash, Simply Asia offers an award-winning menu with a combination of authentic and modern Thai cuisine. Only the freshest ingredients, imported directly from Simply Asia’s exclusive suppliers in Thailand, make their way into the kitchen where guests can be entertained by watching the masterful Thai chefs prepare to spoil them with their masterful creations through the dramatic exhibition kitchens. The tantalising starters, priced between R22 and R32 per portion, range from delicately wrapped prawn blankets and spring rolls served with a sweet chilli sauce, to chicken satay served with its famous spicy peanut sauce. Let’s also not forget Simply Asia’s famous Tom Yum soup, still holding on to its reputation for being the best Tom Yum in town! The main courses, generous and elegantly presented, are priced between R45 and R59 per portion. The menu is a superb selection of fresh Thai dishes to suit every tastebud, such as the “Pad Thai Goong”, a serving of traditional Thai noodles stirfried with prawns, beansprouts and peanuts. Another favourite on the menu is the “Gai Pad Med Prik-Phao”, chicken stirfried with cashew nuts and roasted chilli paste. There is also a large vegetarian selection and a highlight in this category is the “Mah-Khuer Tao-Jeow”, brinjals, tofu and mushrooms stirfried with bean paste, garlic, chilli and basil. Simply Asia is also proud to announce an expansion on its already exotic and extensive menu by offering Dim Sum and a Kid’s menu.
