We’re thinking Thai… Here’s why…

Four of SA’s Twitterati. Four Thai banquets. One chance to win a trip to Thailand.

It’s not every day you get a chance to win a trip overseas and in a first for the SA blogging scene, Simply Asia has been showing true Thai hospitality and put all the power in the hands of the bloggers you love. All they needed to do was interpret a Thai banquet in their own unique style and they could be jetting off to Thailand, to experience the true inspiration of Simply Asia.

Each blogger documented their entire journey, from conceptualising their evening all the way through to setting up, choosing the venue, deciding on the guests and, with a bit of luck, the morning after as well! The shleb that thought out of the noodle-box and wowed us with their personal interpretation of Think Thai won the trip for themselves and a ‘plus one’. Read about what went down below.

But before we catch you crying into your Pad Thai, that’s not the end of the story! As the audience, not only can you influence the outcome of the competition (by visiting your favourite blogger’s site and helping to create buzz around their banquet), you can win a trip to Thailand for yourself too!

All you need to do is order one main meal from Simply Asia, fill out a form and put it in the box and you and a friend could be on your way to Thailand. This could be the easiest overseas trip you’ve ever organised in your life!

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to Think Thai and you know why!

Think Thai Banquet 3: Mike Sharman and his Lumo Luminaries

June 6, 2012

Think Thai Mike Sharman

If you follow Mike Sharman online, you may know he’s not the most conventional guy around. He’s just a little bit left of centre, and you know what – we like that about him. Where others zig, Mike zags. Where angels are gnawing on their knuckles, genuinely fearful to tread – Mike is clomping around […]

#ThinkThai from Motion City Films on Vimeo. The streets of Bangkok are paved with adventure. The air is hot and thick and fluorescent lights flicker on and off all night long. Throngs of people jostle each other on sticky pavements while street vendors screech on every street corner. The city is alive and […]

Think Thai Banquet 1: Angel brings Thailand to Cape Town

May 23, 2012

ThinkThai Angel Campey, Conrad Jantjies and Mark Lottering

Picture the scene – it’s dark and cold. The stars twinkle bitterly in the night sky as you wind your way through labyrinthine back-alleys with no moon to light your way. The hot smell of diesel fumes is all around you and all you hear is your feet crunching against the asphalt. As you round […]

Last week, we saw Bangers and Nash and Angel Campey holding special pre-event evenings for their Thai banquets. Well done to both of them for taking the initiative! The resident party boy, Mr Nash, held […]
